Short peptides in this class are hypothesized to interact with DNA in a sequence-specific manner, modulating gene expression within their tissue of origin. Testagen shares three of four residues with Livagen, substituting glycine for alanine at the C-terminus, which is associated with testicular-tissue specificity within the Khavinson framework.
